Resumen
Se estudio la actitud de la mujer frente a la menopausia y su relación con los síntomas climatéricos. Estudio descriptivo, transversal, observacional, a través de encuesta estructurada a 425 pacientes mayores de 50 años que acudieron a ginecología de mayo 1997 a julio 1998 con menopausia natural y antecedente de hormonoterapia por más de un año. Investigándose edad de menopausia, actitud de la paciente frente a la menopausia y la presencia de 25 síntomas climatéricos de acuerdo a la literatura. Grupo A: pacientes con actitud positiva frente a la menopausia (180). La edad promedio fue de 54.4 y la edad de la menopausia de 47.4. Grupo B: pacientes con actitud negativa frente a la menopausia (245), la edad promedio de las pacientes fue 53.2 años y la edad de menopausia de 46.7 años, 57.6% de las pacientes manifestaron conceptos desfavorables acerca de la menopausia. La prevalencia de síntomas como fatiga, irritabilidad, labilidad emocional y depresión presentaron una p > 0.001 en pacientes con actitud negativa. La sintomatología vasomotora se presentó en ambos grupos con p < 0.001. La predisposición negativa de la paciente ante la menopausia favorece la prevalencia de síntomas psicológicos.
Abstract
To determine the attitude of the woman's attitude before of menopause an her relation with the climacteric symptom. Descriptive transversal, observational study through of survey structured to 425 patients in age of 50 years over, that attended to gynecology of May 1997 to July 1998, with natural menopause and antecedent of hormonoterapy for but of a year. It being investigated menopause age, at this moment appears 25 climacteric symptoms in agree to literature. Group A: patient's with positive attitude as compared to the menopause (180). The average age was 54.4 years and the age, which appears the menopause was 47.4 years. Group B: patient with negative attitude as compared the menopause (245). The average age of the patients was 53.2 years and the menopause age of 46.7 years. 57.6% of the patients expressed unfavorable concepts about the menopause. The frequent symptoms were fatigue, irritability, instability emotional, and depression. The have p > 0.001 in patient with negative attitude. The negative predisposition of the patient before the menopause favors the frequently of psychological symptoms.
